Cairngorms Glamping is a farm-style site at Strathdon in Aberdeenshire with views in every direction and dark night skies. The glamping pods are heated and each has its own hot tub and fire pit, with an ensuite shower room, a kitchenette and two sofa beds, and you can park beside your pod. Pods need at least 24 hours' notice so the tub is ready, apart from Barn Owl, which can sometimes be booked last minute.
The camping side has 36 grass pitches, six with electric and a water tap and thirty without, taking tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes. There are toilets and showers, waste disposal, a small shop and a seasonal food hut selling breakfast rolls. Children get a play area, a zipline and bikes to borrow, and Critter Corner has alpacas, pygmy goats, a donkey and sheep that guests can walk in with, as paid experiences. Dogs are welcome, on a lead around the animals; tell them when you book.
