Abbey Green Farm is a family-run farm at Whixall, near Whitchurch, close to the Welsh border and the Llangollen Canal. The camping field has well-spaced grass and hardstanding pitches, extra-large electric pitches for big groups, and cheaper non-electric eco pitches. It runs as a quiet site with no big play area or entertainment, and an adults-only B&B sits separately on the same farm.

The Orchard Hideaway is a glamping pod in its own fruit orchard with a double bed, mini fridge and kettle, sharing the campsite's showers and covered dining area. The shower block and indoor washing-up area get a lot of praise, and there are chemical and grey-waste disposal points, free wifi in the camping area and ice-pack freezing on request.

Food is made on the farm: stone-baked pizzas delivered to your pitch, bacon-and-egg sandwiches, waffles, cream teas and ice cream. Dogs are welcome on the camping field on a short lead but not in the pod, as there are show sheep next door. Open fires are not allowed; raised BBQs are fine.
