Small riverside campsite beside Melverley's black-and-white timber church on the Shropshire-Powys border, with fishing on the Vyrnwy and hook-ups.

Church House sits on the bank of the River Vyrnwy at Melverley, next to the 15th-century timber church and looking across the Severn flood plain to the Welsh hills. It is a quiet, simple site on the border, roughly equidistant from Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
There are toilets, hot and cold washbasins, a shower and 16 amp electric hook-ups, plus a recycling point. The Severn Way passes the site, and the owners sell day and season fishing tickets for about a mile of the Vyrnwy, which has salmon, trout, barbel, chub and pike.
Dogs are welcome if you follow the site rules. The Old Hand and Diamond pub is a mile away; the nearest small shops are about three miles off. Seasonal pitches are also available.
