The Sustainability Centre is a charity-run eco site near East Meon, set in 55 acres of woodland and chalk grassland directly on the South Downs Way. The campsite is deliberately basic: six pitches on the main field plus three bays that each take up to four people, no electric, and no caravans or campervans (the site has no licence for them, even in the car parks). Each pitch has a fire bowl you can hire with logs and kindling.

Facilities are in straw-bale and timber buildings: a three-cubicle solar shower block, compost toilets, running water and a covered washing-up area. A small gift shop sells basics on weekdays, and the vegetarian and vegan cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday. If you want a roof, there are woodburner-heated yurts from April to October, a shepherd's hut with its own shower and toilet all year, plus en-suite B&B rooms and a 39-bed hostel in the Eco Lodge. Walkers on the National Trail make up a good share of guests.

Dogs are allowed in some of the accommodation but not all. They cost £2 a night. Not allowed in the shepherd's hut, Rose Yurt or Eco Lodge (assistance dogs only).
