Glamping

The Partridge Retreat is a small glampsite on a family pig farm outside St Osyth, a short drive from the Essex coast. There are five pods, four for couples and one family pod, each with its own bathroom with a walk-in shower, a kitchenette with Nespresso machine, gas hob and oven, and a terrace with a Big Green Egg barbecue.

A private hot tub can be hired for each pod and is heated before you arrive. On site there is also a sauna and plunge pool, and a therapist offers massages and treatments if booked in advance. Breakfast hampers and barbecue boxes, with bacon and eggs from the farm next door, can be added to a booking.

Up to two dogs are welcome for a charge, though not on the furniture and the woods are out of bounds. The whole site can be booked for up to 16 people. Quiet hours start at 10.30pm and only paying guests are allowed on site.

Prices are shown by the booking calendar on each pod page. Hot tub is a one-off hire charge for the stay. Fancy Flight's sofa bed is £25 extra. A £250 security deposit is held two days before arrival and released two days after departure.
