Sweet Hill Farm is a five-acre working farm on the Isle of Portland, a short walk from the cliff path to Portland Bill. The camping is deliberately basic: separate fields, cold taps, compost toilets and hot showers that run for three minutes on a pound. You pick your own spot in most fields; only the electric pitches are marked out.

A converted horsebox serves breakfast and lunch, and a horsebox sauna with cold plunge baths and a fire circle can be booked as an extra. Chesil Equestrian runs guided rides from the same farm. Touring caravans are not accepted, but tents, campervans and motorhomes are. There is no Wi-Fi in the fields, and no grey-water or waste disposal point.

  • Sea views over Portland Bill and three lighthouses
  • Cliff path to Portland Bill about 15 minutes on foot
  • Bookable horsebox sauna and cold plunge
  • Guided horse rides from the farm
  • Pub a five-minute walk down the track
