Point Field is the Sharpham Trust's rough-and-ready camping field on the bank of the River Dart, reached by an unsurfaced lane that the trust says is passable by car in dry weather and at your own risk. Many visitors arrive by canoe instead, and the trust's partner Canoe Adventures can ferry people and kit from Totnes, Stoke Gabriel or Tuckenhay.

You book the whole field for a night rather than a pitch. It fits roughly ten to twelve small tents, with a gentle slope for more, though the water's edge can flood on high tides. Facilities are two compost toilets and running water, and a fire is possible as an option. It suits a canoe-trip stopover or a group that wants quiet over comforts.
