Penhale sits on a working organic farm just outside Fowey, with its camping fields looking down over St Austell Bay. There are 41 level electric pitches (some on hardstanding, each with its own water tap), plus tent fields with water and free wifi, and 12 static holiday homes to rent.

The shower block is heated and open round the clock, and reception has a small shop, gas and a free ice-pack freezer. Dogs are welcome on a lead, with a big grass field to run them off it. Polkerris beach and its pub are about a mile away, and you can walk into Fowey in an hour or so, or flag a bus at the gate.
