  • Dogs welcome

Newton Grove is a small sloping site of about 1.8 acres on the edge of South Newington, a village near Banbury on the Oxfordshire side of the Cotswolds. It takes no more than five outfits at a time and is members-only, so you will need your Caravan and Motorhome Club card on arrival. There is no tent camping, though a small single-berth pup tent alongside the main outfit is accepted.

There are two level hardstandings, which stay open through the winter, plus an open grass area that easily takes five units. None of the pitches has an electric hook-up. The owners put out a solar unit for visitors to charge batteries or run low-power 240V kit, and silent inverter generators are tolerated. Facilities are minimal and the site is aimed at quiet stays rather than families wanting activities. The village has a pub and a medieval church with wall paintings, and the lack of street lighting gives a dark sky at night.
