This campsite sits in the grounds of the Holycombe retreat centre in Whichford, on the earthworks of a Norman castle with a moat. Because of its planning permission it runs as a quiet site: no children under 12, no dogs, no music of any kind, and no groups. Couples, singles and families with older children are who it is set up for.

Camping is on mown circles, roughly eleven inside the moated area and nine across the moat in the orchard, with a few campervan hook-ups that must be booked with the pitch. Fires must go in the fire baskets, never on the ground. Campers share a kitchen with fridge, freezer, kettle and microwave, plus hot showers and flush and compost toilets.

Glamping is in several yurts, an Airstream, a small Dutch cabin and a bell tent, all with wood burners; a heated glamping bathroom serves the units without their own. The pub is a five-minute walk through the village, and the church bells chime every fifteen minutes, so bring ear plugs.
