Comrie Croft is a reworked farm above Crieff, with a farm shop, the Gorse Cafe and a network of mountain bike trails and a skills park on its doorstep. The camping is deliberately a bit wild. Tents go in separate meadows and birch woods, cars are left in the car park rather than beside the pitch, and every pitch has a fire bowl or pit. Wheelbarrows are provided for hauling kit. The meadows range from Low Meadow, close to the main shower block and good for young families, to the Far Away Meadow about ten minutes' walk off, with a smoke-free summer field where cars can park nearby.

Campervans have their own bays for vans up to 6m with rooftop tents also welcome, but there are no hook-ups, no chemical waste or grey-water disposal and no caravans or trailer tents. For something sturdier there are seven handmade Nordic kata tents in the birches, each with a wood burner, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and toilet outhouse, and an eco-lodge of private ensuite rooms in the old farmhouse and steading. Dogs are welcome everywhere on a lead, there is no amplified music, and quiet time starts at 11pm.
