Wight Classic Camping (Three Gates Farm)

Wight Classic Camping is a two-tent glamping spot in a private wood on Three Gates Farm, Shalfleet, the home of the Calbourne Classics bakery and clotted-cream business. A bridleway leads down to Newtown Creek nature reserve, and Cowes and Yarmouth are both about five miles away.

The two safari tents, Hedgehog's Den and Squirrel's Drey, each sleep up to five, with a double bedroom, a second double-or-twin room, a lounge with sofa, bean bags and a wood burner, an equipped kitchen and a private shower room with flushing loo. Outside each has decking, a BBQ, an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit. The tents are stocked with some of the farm's own cakes, yoghurt and scones, and more can be pre-ordered.

Up to two dogs per tent stay free, though they must be on leads because it is a working farm. The season runs from the Easter holidays to the end of October, stays are a minimum of three nights, and the two tents are close enough together to suit two families travelling together.
