Red Squirrel is a laid-back campsite in the trees by the River Coe, in Glencoe village, where people have camped since 1914. Pitches are not marked: you choose your own spot in the woodland, which is why it feels closer to wild camping than most sites. It is set up for tents and smaller campervans.

There are no hook-ups and no chemical toilet or grey water disposal, and touring caravans and motorhomes over 7m are not accepted. Instead there are toilets and hot showers, an information hut with device charging, and fire bowls that you can borrow free if you bring your own wood or buy a kit from reception. Dogs are welcome on a lead or long line. A food truck often serves breakfast and dinner at weekends, and card payments are accepted.
