Blackwater is the campsite attached to Blackwater Hostel, on the edge of Kinlochleven beside the River Leven. It has 30 grass pitches, but only for one- or two-person tents, so it suits walkers and cyclists rather than families with big tents. Walk-ins are catered for, though pitches can also be booked online.
The site has a renovated shower block with unlimited hot showers, free WiFi, phone-charging points, two big drying rooms and a covered seating and pot-wash area. There is no kitchen for campers, but small stoves are fine.
You can also stay in glamping pods in three sizes, in ready-made TentBox cabins that sit on the ground, or in the hostel and West Highland Lodge next door. The village shops, pubs and fish and chip shop are a few minutes on foot.
