Gellie is a small, traditional field campsite off the A487 between Synod Inn and Plwmp in Ceredigion, run by the same family for over 30 years. There are no marked pitches, so groups can pitch together and anyone after peace can find a quiet corner in the 30 acres. Part of the land is marshy and protected for a rare moth and orchid, so there is real wildlife around the edges.
A big separate field has a volleyball court, football pitch and sand pit, with balls, kites, rounders kit and frisbees stored for guests to borrow. Campfires are fine in a raised fire pit, which you can hire at reception, and logs are on sale. It is open from mid-May to early September, and the beaches and harbour towns of the Ceredigion coast are a short drive away.
