Holmsley sits on part of the old Holmsley Airfield, with ancient trees round the edges and open heath next door where ponies graze. It is the biggest-facilities site in the Camping in the New Forest group: electric hook-ups, non-electric hardstanding and grass pitches, plus XL pitches, ten bell tents on hardstanding and a rally field.

On site there is a refurbished shop, a takeaway open Wednesday to Sunday, a new play area, laundry, washing-up, a self-service dog wash and EV charging. The beaches at Christchurch and Bournemouth are a drive away. Electric pitches are allocated on arrival, so you can't guarantee being next to friends, and tents can't go on the hardstanding.
