Waggoners is a single big grass field on the Hampton Estate near Seale, between Farnham and Guildford, with woodland along one edge and the North Downs Way running past the top. There are no marked pitches: you pick a spot and leave a few metres around you. Numbers are kept deliberately low and the site is run for quiet, so it does not suit parties or loud groups.

It is properly off-grid. There is no electricity, no shop and no fridge; loos are compost toilets, the two showers are open-topped cubicles in the trees with unheated water, and taps supply drinking water. A cycle hut has a pump and basic tools, and fire pits with a grill can be rented. It opens Thursday to Sunday nights plus bank holiday Mondays, from Easter.

  • Sits right on the North Downs Way and NCN route 22
  • Fire pit with logs and marshmallows to rent
  • Low numbers and quiet-time rules
  • Cycle hut with pump and tools
  • Reduced rate for walkers and bikepackers
