Clayton sits in about 100 acres of the Eden Valley a few minutes from St Andrews, and has been run by the same family since 1966. Much of the ground is left as woodland and river bank, with an SSSI walk and 600 metres of River Eden frontage where guests can fish without a permit for most species.
For a short stay you hire one of six two-bedroom holiday homes, two of which take pets. Each sleeps up to six, with gas and electric included, and every guest gets free swim passes. The leisure centre has a heated indoor pool, a toddler pool, an eight-person spa pool, sauna and gym, plus soft play, a games room, adventure golf, a shop, a cafe and a restaurant and bar.
The touring caravan pitches are hardstanding with electric, water and drainage, but they are let for the whole March to October season (with winter storage included), not by the night. Anyone wanting a nightly touring pitch will need to ring the park first.
