Appuldurcombe Gardens is an independent, family-run holiday park on the edge of Wroxall, a couple of miles inland from Ventnor, in the valley beneath Stenbury Down and close to the ruins of Appuldurcombe House. It mixes a sheltered touring and camping field with self-catering static caravans set inside an old walled orchard, two lodges and two apartments above the on-site cafe.

Every touring pitch has 10-amp hook-up, and you can choose plain grass, grass with a shared tap, hardstanding in the streamside meadow area, or fully serviced pitches with their own water and grey waste. In season there is a heated outdoor pool, a licensed cafe-lounge called The Core, a launderette, a play area and a small four-hole crazy golf course. The park suits families and couples rather than groups: bookings are capped at three pitches or units per party, and fire pits and open fires are banned, though raised BBQs are fine on the camping field.

  • Heated 18m outdoor pool from late May to early September
  • Hook-up on every pitch, plus serviced and hardstanding options
  • Footpaths to Stenbury Down and Appuldurcombe House from the park
  • Static caravans in a car-free walled orchard
